Total snags at 120m camp 231 snags x 2 days - 0 Morning tended traps and prepared specimens. Afternoon set 99 rat traps and developed pictures. The traps were put up and landing the Agatherin fruit below camp. Started off this morning with all available men to construct a new camp close to the Glenburg flood at the edge of the foothills. Weather: Early morning dark overcast, clearing mid-morning with breaks and frequent sunshine. Afternoon clear. Evening heavy rain and wind. Mar. 25 km SW Burntard Camp Glenburg R. Netherlands New Guinea 850m. 150 mm traps, 267 rat traps, 27 stick traps, 812 snags - 3 Melomys Morning tended traps, prepared specimens. Afternoon set 125 mm traps. This has in gum 7 W of camp on the ridge above the flood plain. It is a second growth forest with rather thick undergrowth. Evening set 2 let. It was a mild evening and very few sun skis flying about. Late evening just jinking no animals seen but managed to capture some frogs new to the collection. The boys saw several small rats on J while they sat. Weather: No rain, broken overcast. Mar. 26 km SW Burntard Camp Glenburg R. Netherlands New Guinea 850m. 125 mm traps, 267 rat traps, 27 stick traps, 832 snags - 4 Melomys Shot 2 Embellons, 1 Pogonomy. Morning tended traps and prepared specimens. Being Sunday the early afternoon was spent in rest and reading. Later on in the afternoon packed up a black box of specimens to transport down tomorrow.
