Weather: Light rain early morning clearing mid-morning, occasional clouds, small sunshine remainder of day. Evening and light thin overcast. Mar. 29 4 Km SW Bernhard Camp blending R. Athterlands New Guinea 850m. 125 mouse traps, 207 rat traps, 27 steel traps, 845 snares - 2 Calymygers. Shot - 2 Entallomas. 1 Lipistillus, 3 (2Ss.) Pseudocheirus. Shaws trapped at 12:00m. Camp 231 snares x 2 days - 0. This morning studied traps, prepared specimens and went up to the 12:00 camp. I was able to check over part of the edge of snare and spent some 2 1/2 hours watching the wild bird Paradise display ground. There were no birds about although the flow was then showing occupancy. This evening shot - bat. The flight began on a usual about 6:20 but stopped all of a sudden at 6:32. The sudden change was perhaps due to the coming of rain which broke some 10 min. later. Transport arrived this afternoon shot 5:00 from Bernhard Camp bringing with it flour, cocoa, mail, squad. Teamed came up tomorrow with remainder of food food brought in by the Gube today. Weather: clear with occasional clouds until about 3 when it can overcast again till at 5:15 and heavy rain about 7:00 to 8:30+ Mar. 30 4 Km SW Bernhard Camp blending R.
