This morning tried traps and prepared specimens. This afternoon went at day light to search for the well. About 1 1/2 miles distant in a large sink bed not quite 6 tree we cut and as arranged so to permit a man getting in. I plan on returning tomorrow, and then to set. This morning returned to the sink bed, a pit from 5-6 ft in depth and with a large lateral room (50 x 30 x 30 ft). There was no sign of bats although the walls, curves, and floors were searched for signs. This morning at about 10:45 Capt. Surridge and transport returned from the Bde River.
