Oct 21 9am NC Lake Klabama, Netherlands New Guinea 2800m. 198 mmu traps, 220 net traps, 29 stick traps - 1 Pleurogeles, 4 Melonje (1ym), 13 Steenomy, (2 licards) 3 birds. 1 Pleurogeles was shot by my collecting boy. This morning tried traps and gathered specimens. This afternoon explored the area to the north west of camp. There appears to be some very interesting trapping regions along the rocky face of the stream gorge. On their while intented on was a native bird bird. A small dove shape but it high up six feet across. It perch was built off at from th lone, a small stick cone 1/2 in diameter, seemed at th other end by a forked stick in th ground. Looked it within a foot and a half of the end in a tangle berty things which the bird was it seems to creep into native bird on his perch. In the end of the perch in the fork of the stick is a clump of moss 3 caught up minified arrow.
