We passed by two of Argonne old camps, or only a short (300m) delay camp and the other about 1 kilometre from camp. The former was probably on made by the eastern party 'to the east' the other one of their main camps. This morning during the few minutes I could breathe again could be seen on the slopes of the Mt. Most of the day however it has rained, clearing for a short while this late afternoon but soon clouding over and raining... Sept 27 2 km E Mt Wilhelmaya Netherlands New Guinea 3800m. 87 net traps, 17 stale traps - 1 Stenomya (dead) 4 Rattus (live), 1 Pogonomya, 1 Phanerozela 1 Pterogrytes. This morning removed the traps (83 net, 15 stale) from the north facing slope of the east spur ridge of Mt Wilhelmaya. They were next again on the west slope of a hill west of camp. These traps were set in varying habitats from the forest margin, long grass hill slope to scrubby thickets. This afternoon prepared specimens. Today has been the first good day during the past week. There was sun and shade but not rain until about 5:00 this evening. Sept 28 2 km E Mt Wilhelmaya Netherlands New Guinea 3800m. 84 net traps, 17 stale traps - 1 Pseudochina, 1 Pogonomya, 5 Stenomya. Reballed traps ad gathered specimens the morning. This afternoon remained in camp to make up lost weight. This noon Aichfield, Reed, Jerrick, Shields, 4 Dykes and 4 convicts returned!
