1965 SIC#8 RRJ 12 to camp. Saw a total of 4 rats, 3 dogs. Caught 1 rat 1! 26 May 65 Up @ 0630, broke camp, off island at 0700, underway & Phoenix D. Began repack & cleaning gear, stuffing birds. Island in sight at 1530. Gear into boats & landed at 1630. Slippery rock landing ledge. Set up camp! Brief look over island: Large nesting colony of lesser frigate near lagoon. Great frigate colony between camp and L. Frig. colony, most on small nestlings; a few on e* eggs. One nest w/ 2 nestlings; one w/ down all over, one bare. RTTB nesting (20+) under loose slabs. Xmas & S. compete for rock slabs w/ RTTB, have seen 20+, 1 nestling. Gray-backed Terns scattered about island, some on eggs, most appear to be just roosting. Cm.
