1965 RRJ 13 SIC#8 top of coral slab and on coarse sand. 2 N seen. Fairy Terns nesting on top of coral slabs, 1 egg seen. Blue Gray Dodies common on ground. Found 2 eggs on ground at base of coral crunch. Most appear to be pre-breeding. Wedge Tels - 1 seen, many burrows started, most w nestlings near fledging, Large conc. of Sooty Terns on ground at Sand Island. Just beginning to lay eggs. Large conc. of S.T. on ground at Sand Island, no eggs. S.T. all over island in air. Saw 2 Phoenix I. Petels, 2 BTC. Rabbits, Orit's Lags, cumele very common - saw 50+, probably several hundred on island. All black, tan & white mixture, about size of cottontail. Run like hell but sometimes stop & look at me. Didn't let just lay. Found several liters of fresh eggs open, in hand when caught. B&B scarce, saw 1 Et. Saw hippopocids on nesting B&B
