May 18, 1948, Mary's Peak, 0800-1000, 4000' Brkn, cold, NW 5-20 Vulture - a few over area Blue Grouse hooting - one in top of 40' fir. Flicker - pair near top, in clump of Noble Fir Raven Chestnut-backed Chickadees - in dense forest on NW slope Red-breasted Nuthatch - in forest on NW slope Robin - singing Varied Thrush - several calling Townsend's Solitaire - 1 pair along road up - first I have seen in 2 years.
