moved over real distances to roost. They were not locally settled. They actually kept up continually for the time we were there. 20 Jan - Similar activity among sawt gop, on the UC campus N of LSB. Two pairs of settled males seemed to be joining in, some level nomads. 22 Jan - This a.m., a single bird to the west with area mentioned above (i.e., near Mute Seas) was calling continually, ignoring intruders, an individual finding a open space and settling there. 10 Feb - In past two weeks, two local gop on UC main campus giving repeated upward call of unmated bird. One at 5 end of Muttalard Sci's. Yesterday, two in Telden Park along Winsty Rd also calling from open brushland (i.e., along optimal habitat). None heard lower down, except typical display in flight across territory giving a low, loud krrk-krrk-krrk series. ~Feb 20 - In Telden Park, settled gop on territory along Winsty Rd regards to call formation giving krrk-krrk-krrk note and flying over his area with deep undulating flight.
