It was chased by several shorebirds on its path over the ridge. 28 June. Barrow, Alaska One seen along the beach ridge nearby gasoline crossing. It flurried towards the east. 1 July. Barrow, Alaska and Wainwright, Alaska 7-8 seen near Wainwright and the associated decline station. Several others noted between Barrow and Wainwright. 5 July. Barrow, Alaska One seen on the beach ridge in the vicinity of the third census plot. 8 July. Barrow, Alaska Three seen in and near WAS area. Two were females, which were seen to fight (by D. Hilke). The third bird, a male, was seen settling. The birds were also molting.
