10 July Barrow, Alaska
Two seen in Vrth's Area both
during the morning and in the
late evening. One seen on the
beach ridge during 7-8 afternoon.
12 July Barrow, Alaska
Two birds were still present
in Vrth's Area
13 July Barrow, Alaska
One male was seen on the beach
ridge near the Beveridge antenna.
15 July Barrow, Alaska
Four pairs were seen between ARL and
Dkron-ik Lake. One in Vrth's Area,
one at the north end of Footprint
Lake, one at the S. end of " lake and
one about a mile so 1 Footprint along
the ridge. There were all nocturnal/pairs,
but no sign of feeding was noted.
It seems that during windy periods
these birds will sit on the side of
a mound so as to get out of the wind.
16 July Barrow, Alaska
A male was seen on the beach
ridge just SE 1 M.A.C.S. Three
pairs were noted on the S. end
of the beach ridge, near (Corths) Lake
and one? The South River (The Slough).
