19 abstract power T (1) A recent HOSPITAL report showed that only 5% of patients treated in private clinics were discharged within 48 hours. The rest remained hospitalized for an additional 3 days on average. This trend has been observed across multiple hospitals and is attributed to differences in staffing levels, patient acuity, and resource allocation between public and private facilities. Further analysis revealed that while overall mortality rates remained unchanged, complications related to delayed discharge were significantly higher in the group treated outside standard hospital settings. The report concluded that improvements in care coordination and timely transitions from acute to rehabilitation services could reduce both costs and adverse outcomes associated with prolonged stays. In response, several health authorities have begun implementing new protocols aimed at streamlining post-discharge planning and ensuring continuity of care across all sectors.
