We were told that\nthe only way to survive was to leave our home and\ntake refuge in the forest. The soldiers came to\nour camp and asked if we could help them.\nWe said yes, but they did not want us to stay\nwith them. They wanted us to go back to our homes.\nBut we refused to leave until we had saved everyone.\nThe next day we heard that the enemy was coming\nto attack again. So we prepared ourselves for war.\nWe went into the forest and hid there. The enemy\nfound us, but we were able to escape. We ran all\nthe way back to our village. When we arrived,\nwe found that our village had been destroyed.\nOur families were dead or missing. We were devastated.\nBut we knew we had to keep going. We had to\nsave ourselves and our children. So we started\nwalking again. We walked for days, eating only\nwild berries and roots. Finally, we reached a town.\nThe people there helped us find food and shelter.\nWe stayed with them for a while, resting and healing.\nThen we decided to continue our journey.
