Dec 25-Jan 16 Rather common but outnumbered by Ceophloeus. In early a.m. several would be heard drumming - only 2 beats are short & one loud ta,ta.
Very close together. Found in finca in places where large shade trees & dead snags and in semi-cleared giant oak forest n. Mariuda. Not seen working on down logs.
