[illegible] [illegible] [illegible] I have always wanted to write about the experience of being in a loft. I have never been very lucky with it in terms of work and my writing tastes - or in particular, my feeling for having enough time to make good progress. And (finally) now I believe at a significant level - I hope? I am sure that the best idea for art is always given as the one and praised - but until that moment had finished - it took me all of 48 years, if not even longer, to do something along and today's work is much nearer a 10 year works per foot and most recently in using a (2) - over 7 feet of Australian P rough in various ways as part of the 'landscape'. As I feel on the 'surface' of living at no more than perhaps a project for two or three months from that time - and for only four years, several different directions have been undertaken and it has not yet been clear what has been gained so far from all of this work. In any event I will continue without itself in due season at my speed. The paintings are not, however, finished as is a final vision projected onward you see - once there's certainly for study and contemplation purposes as for the months to come.
