p10. Predation. "An incident was reported by Ober, Department of Fish and Game Warden (1931), of a pair of golden eagles attacking and killing a yearling bighorn in the Grapevine Hills. Such an occurrence is unique. Ordinary eagles pose no threat to yearling bighorns. p11. Competition. "Cattle graze in a part of the Grapevine range... Competition with bighorns for grass could be substantial in these areas." p12. Poaching. Welles (p.c.) reported to me that residents of Brady, Shoshone, and other desert communities regularly poached bighorns in the Grapevine and Black Hills until he came to the area and began actively studying bighorns. During the period of our study, poaching decreased."
