P.A. Kelly 1984 Journal superb. He had a nice selection of wrens as well. We camped in Doolin overnight but left early the following morning for Ballygriffy & Promore. 21 July 25 Checked all the traps around 8am. Got only 3 voles and no mice. Really poor trap success. I made skeletons and took tissues while Cathy cooked breakfast. Really warm weather, and the flies were a nuisance - got some relief by wearing caps smeared with repellent. We spent some of the afternoon on the beach in Lahinch, but even there we were pestered by swarms of lady- birds (which actually bit). To make matters worse the water was still very cold. We loaded up on groceries and drove back to Promore where we set the 50 Museum Specials ( baited with peanut butter/oatmeal mix ). Got 1 vole in the Specials in the evening, but only fieldmice in the longworths. We camped at a lovely spot on the lakeshore near Thomond Castle. 22 July 26 Got up at 7am to see a lovely haunting mist hanging over the lake and the castle. Took some photos to capture the moment. We checked the Museum Specials before breakfast (3 Voles & 8 Mice). I made skeletons and tissues while Cathy cooked bacon and eggs for breakfast. There was a Berkeley
