P.A.Kelly 1984 Journal 2. Richmond Field Station, 47th St & Hoffman Blvd., Richmond, Contra Costa Co., California. Feb. 16 Left MVZ at 2pm with Ed Beske and Mike Gellerman to set up trafficking grids in Richmond. Rained heavily in the morning but slackened off in the afternoon. Some of the grids were very waterlogged, but we persisted and put down 300 stakes in each 60x20 m grid. Stakes were 2m apart. Lots of vole and gopher sign despite the wet conditions. Sagelan Creek Field Station, Nevada Co., California. April 19 Left MVZ at 4pm with Ann Brooks and Cally, and we drove to Sagelan Creek Field Station, 8 miles north of Truckee in the Sierra Nevada. We stopped for food in Auburn and watched a spectacular red sun set. 20 mins after continuing our journey however we hit sleet and rain, which developed into a blinding snow blizzard as we continued upwards. After 2hrs so we decided to put on the snow chains on Ann's 4WD Toyota. We then could only continue at about 20mph. We finally took the chains off near Truckee as the snow died down and arrived at the field station about 10:30pm. Mike Godes Williams - the Station
