Tue Slept in until 0800. Updated my notes.
June 28 I spent the early afternoon checking on
the location of all my trap shelters and
traps. As I suspected, I could not
account for 2 shelters (4 traps).
Set traps from 100A to 204 and 132. I
also found fresh bat sign in a hollow log
upcreek from H.100. Trapped that too.
2130 Started checking: Caught a new ♂
(1865-66, 182g) at the hollow log (100D). I
also had another new ♂ (1874-75, 179g) at
H.127A. He squealed a lot and his presumptive
mother (? ♀1197 ?) duly responded with exten-
sive tail-rattling and exploratory excursions.
No other surprises. Bed by 1 a.m..
Wed 0913pst Ellie Steinberg gave me a 57g jnr.
June 29 ♂ woodrat which fell from the Antler
Room attic into her bed around 0300 this
morning. She said it called out a lot
and mom (? ♀1350 ?) responded by tail-
rattling overhead and in the walls. He in
turn followed the sound of her T.R. as she
moved through the walls around the Antler
Room. Ellie finally trapped the little guy
in a Sherman this morning. I returned him
to the attic even though he seemed fairly stressed
out. I want to recapture him, and subs with
Mom for tissues and specimens soon.
