P.A. Kelly 1988 Journal How Beautiful cold clear morning. After May 30 breakfast we drove over Tioga Pass with Les + Peggy in search of their radio-collared Big Horns. We located a pair of ewes on the south face of Lee Vining Peak. Peggy eventually located them on a Juniper clad bench up over Highway 120. We watched them through binoculars and spotting scope for over half an hour. The group contained 2 ewes, 3 yearlings and 1 lamb. Les + Peggy had hoped for 2 lambs. Peggy continued observing the sheep. We drove back through the park and gave Les a ride to Crane Flat to pick up their out-of-gas pickup truck. The traffic en route to the Bay Area was not too bad considering the Holiday Weekend. Probably due to the mass exodus on Sat. night / Sun. morning. We arrived in Albany at 5.45 p.m.
