P.A. Kelly 1988 Journal Tuolumne Meadows, Yosemite National Park, Sat. Tuolumne Co., California (8,600 ft.) May 28 Left Berkeley at 8 a.m., arrived in Yosemite around 11 a.m.. Catty and I are visiting Les Chow and Peggy Moore at their Big Horn Sheep Reintroduction H.Q. in Bug Camp. Tuolumne Meadows for the weekend. Les (Hemorrhoid) and Peggy were gone for the day but told to make ourselves right at home in their large 2 room Tent-frame Cabin in Bug Camp. We did. In the afternoon we took a short hike south across the Dana - Lyell Forks of the Tuolumne, then west along the Lyell Fork to the Tuolumne Meadows Campground, then back east along the Dana to Bug Camp. En route we got our first good look at a Mountain Bluebird. We also saw Junco, Yellow-rumped starblers, Hermit Thrushes, and some Bolding Stellar Jay, Ground Squirrels. Started training around 7 p.m. but it was snowing by 9 p.m.. Bed by 10p.m. Sun. May 29 Awoke to find a blanket of snow over everything. Beautiful but the storm continued off and on through the day. Les + Peggy (and their friends Annie - Judy) cshowed up for breakfast at 9 a.m.. Hwy 120 was closed at both ends. Lot of holiday campers were miserable. The Rangers led convoys
