P. A. Kelly 1988 Journal Apr 13: Remoaned the fact that I didn't have (cont) a spotting scope or a telephoto lens with me, and continued observing. He looked back towards me about 10 secs after I got out of the truck. He continued up the hill, staying on the path, all the way, nose to the ground. 0633 PST: He crossed under the fence between the 2nd + 3rd power pole (near a smaller telephone-line pole) onto the "Noyce" ranch. I got a good clear look as he crossed open over-grazed hillside towards the Buckeye Woods: "long tail, dark tip, he's not very big, I wonder if he is a cub or yearling, walking across open ground on Noyce property, see him clearly, shoulders a little lower than stump, going into trees, out of sight". 0652 PST: Went through the Buckeye Woods or Haystack with a spotting scope and camera but didn't get another sighting. In retrospect, I should mention that at around 0620 PST I saw 2 pair of deer in the long field (near H.100). They did not pay much attention to me. All of them spent a lot of time looking
