P.A. Kelly 1988 Journal Apr. 12 2231 pst: H.79, ->1336. Dusted him again (out) with green pigment. 2254: H.69, ->1382-1523. His right foreleg has healed up quite a bit. He also has put on 26g (now 2829) since March 27 and he ran away towards H.69 upon release. Wed. Apr. 13 0619: H.90. Not having much success trying to capture rats at Houses 91A, 90, 92, +87. Will use some peanut butter tonight. I'm after ->1192, ->1505 + others. N.B. 0632: Watched a mountain lion ascend the Haystack Hill path. Noticed him/her as I drove back up the lane between Long Field + Gate Field. At first I thought it was a lone deer but then it "disappeared from view. I took my 8x42 Bushnell Banner binoculars and craned awkwardly out the window and looked up towards Haystacks. My heart skipped a beat when I noticed the dark tip of a long tail projecting above the grass as the animal ascended the path: "That's a mountain lion" I told myself and I couldn't believe that I was finally watching one especially out in the open like that.
