P.A. Kelly 1988 Journal Her.28 & 1460 did not return to H.5, where she (cont.) was captured. Instead she headed across through the canopy to H.6. She didn't go into it immediately, but actually foraged close to it. She eventually entered H.6, albeit caut- iouly. A min. or two later I could hear a minor commotion - chase? no squeals - but no woodrat, excited the House. 0800 PST: Red Hze. I was ravenous after the morning's work. Demolished a large breakfast of Huevos Rancheros. 1100 - 1230 pST.: Collected fecal sample from the trap shelters (usually ~30 pellets per shelter) that had rat over the last 2 nights (110 to 25). 22 samples in all from Houses 25, 32, 34, 41^47, 50, 56, 61, 62, 69, 71, 76, 82, 85, 90, 91, 91A, 92, 96, 97, 98, & 100C. 1600 - 1900 pST. Setting traps, clearing Poison Oak + other jobs. Also collected more fecal samples from Hzes 1, 5, 6, 7, 16 and at 11 when I captured D'1607-09 at 1916 PST.. He had 10 pellets by then even though he couldn't have been in the trap any longer than an hour. 1802 pST.: lot of acorn bushes in front of disinfected H.120. They are coming from the side in Red Willow overhead. Also see a lot of them at other houses. I must test the importance
