P.A. Kelly 1988 Journal Mar 26 the porch again around 2000 PST. She (cont.) fluttered to the floor first but was gone when I checked again about 30 mins. later. Since H. eurycalus is supposed to feed on Ceanothus, Coffeeberry (Rhamnus) and Willow, I think I will try to hatch out my 33 eggs on cuttings of some or else I might try to stick them to a convenient food plant. Sun. Mar. 27 0530 PST. Started checking traps. F1150 was a little shaky on her feet when I released her at H.98 but she didn't seem hypothermic. Hungry??? I picked up a new subad. ♀ (1659-60, 168g) at previously- unoccupied H.76. She had small wounds (bite marks) on her rump and tail, and she also had 18 nymphal Ticks on her R. Ear and 5 or her left. Where has she come from? Give no idea until I check last all the records against her projected age. 0648 PST : H.69, ♂> 1382-1523 in bad shape. Complete left fore limb seems to be atrophied. There are some yellowish scabs on it. It may have been broken. It's rigid and apparently useless. He seems scrotal, but the testes are medium in size and the cauda epididymis are not enlarged w/ sperm. Smells a little too. He
