R.A.Kelly 1985 Journal Mar.11 1630pst We set traps for specific woodrats (cont.) at 21 houses from H.26 - 98. 2230pst Went out w. Jaff to check + close all traps. We caught 17 woodrats, but few juveniles so we only got 2 recordings of squeaking (at H.32 + H.96). I tagged 2 new individuals at H.92 (Sub.ad ♀ 1655-56, 205g) and at H.94 (Imm. ♂ 1657-58, 171g). Where did those 2 come from? I doubt that either is an immigrant. Must check the lactation records for Dec. + early Feb. I also had a new juv ♀ 1653-54 (95g) at H.32 - Mon ♀ 1256? Got to bed around midnight. Sat.Mar.12 After breakfast, Jaff + I drove up the Arnold. He made some recordings of Plain Titmice + Orange-crowned Warblers. Headed back to Berkeley after lunch. Hastings Nat. Hist. Res., Carmel Valley, Monterey County, California Apr. Mar.25 10:30 pst. Left Berkeley. Stopped at the Crossroads Shopping Hall (Carmel) for supplies. Arr. in Hastings 1400pst. Fairly tired after the drive down so I only set traps at 10 houses (from 100C to 126). 2209 pst at H.110 captured ♀ 1455-56 in one trap the other trap was still open. Found dead juv ♀ (43g♀, untagged) on ground within a foot of H.110.
