P.A. Kelly 1988 Journal Thursday Feb. 18 (cont.) 1335 PST Checking Y-houses for activity. No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 6, 9, #5 inactive; Y8 + Y10 both seem active (Y8 is in a lge Sycamore trunk). #s 13, 14 also inactive; 11, 15, 16, 17, 18 active. Also 2 previously unmarked hoes just upstreem from Y.17. Marker #s 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9 + 14 do not actually mark houses, but were initially used as potential trafficking stations. However, while weighing &1434-35 at H.97 a few mins before, I heard tail rattling coming from over + around H.98. Was it a sib. of new jwv 1605-06 or maybe a visiting #? 0115 stopped for a short tea + cookie break - the stars looked lovely. 0150 PST Started checking the 4 pairs of traps in the Spider Tree. It was tricky moving the 20' alum-inium ladder around and setting it up firmly to access each of the 4 houses. But it was worth
