P.A. Kelly 1987 Journal. Under the oaks across the creek from [illegible] Barn. Yoi. Dec. 18 (cont.) Around noon picked up the complete skeleton (Cat# P.K. 175) of the bobcat Jim Griffin pointed out to me on Oct 29 (see Journal). All the bones were very clean and I was able to find all of the elements, including the smaller limb bones. I also pulled 3 scat boluses from its pelvic cavity. I then went down the long field and got a radio fix on #1289. He's in H.85. I also saw a bobcat foraging in Pearson Field (for Microstus?). I also saw a Hoaking Bird (Mimus polyglottus) in elder behind H.97. I then drove over to Corral Viejo and collected the skull of that boar (Cat# P.K. 176) I checked out on Nov. 14 with Marco Salvioni. It's a large impressive specimen, but it is not completely clean yet. So I will not bring it up to Berkeley yet - the smell in the truck would be too nauseating. I'll leave it to "ferment" in a container of damp leaves until I return from Ireland in January. Hopefully it will look + smell clearly then. 4pm 3-5 pm set traps in the lower long field: Hze's 101A & 130 to 240. Clouded over early (c 4pm). Walked up behind the Red Hze looking for wild pigs. Lot of fresh sign - rooting (bunge? lots of acorns on surface), tracks, + rubs - but didn't see any.
