P.A.Kelly 1987 Journal Sat. the technique . We also captured D>1336-37 at H2 79 Nov. 14 but we didn't dust him. We then closed the other (cont.) open traps (2 at H.85) in D>1289's presumptive home range. Returned to the School House for a great Basque dinner cooked by Carol Patton and Suzie Peyton. Then Jim Patton gave his usual dramatic Peru slide show. It was a great hit and even though it was my fourth viewing (also Fall '83, '85 &'86), it was as refreshing and entertaining as ever. 2230 PST. took 11 students to D>1289's part of the long Field. We followed his movements first with Radiotelemetry and then with fluorescence-tracking. He moved throughout the area. The pigment trail was impressive but *** some of the students were noisy and rather immature. They fussed me off! I got them to set traps throughout the area to capture D>1289's potential contacts. Sun. Nov. 15 0515 P.S.T. Captured 4 ?? and 2 of them had orange pigment from D>1289 : ?1524(H.9?) and her daughtere ? 1429-26 (H.94). I continued checking traps down field and picked up new individuals at H.134 (D>1545-46) and H.136 (D>1549-50 & ? 1547-48). We left Hastings by # 1400 P.S.T I took my crew to Paint Cobos on the way home. We saw 3 Enhydra and 2 Zalophus. Stopped at Rositas (Salinas) for late lunch + beer. Arrived home 1900 P.S.T.
