P.A. Kelly 1987 Journal Sat. Nov. 7 0500 PST Got up and headed out to check all 62 traps . I didn't finish until 08:30 A.S.T. Had few surprises this time : Caught 18 woodrats in separate shelters inc. missing ?? 1501-02 in the Spider Tree and 1519-20 at H2015. I didn't catch anything on the platform under H.100A but I did catch ? 1188-89 in the traps placed up on H.1B - however I think she returned to H.1. Collected Fecal Pellets from all Shelters except 1: at H2e 58A caught ?> 1521-22, no feces and little of C.O.B. eaten - leads me to assume that he was not long in trap. Must find out soon if they have a constant rate of defecation. Also Passage Rate & Coprophagy are of interest of course. Of the 17 pellet samples, pellet number varied from 8 to 84. As usual, I dried all 17 [illegible] samples in the oven at the Red H2e. From 3-5 pm (PST), I set traps from H2e 71-98, 100A, 100C, 101A & 101B, & down at the 1st Crossing. Ribble joined me for dinner at the Red H2e. Before that I hiked all over Sch. Hill but didn't see any fresh pig sign. Sun. Nov. 8 0500 P.S.T.: Checked and Closed all traps. I finished by 0800. Caught 16 woodrats at 31 houses. I collected fecal pellets from 14 woodrats and I also fitted a radio-collar to ?> 1289-91 at H2e 92. Sedated him
