Collected all Tomahawks (15) from School Hill. I will use 40 tomahawks (20 shelters) to start trying to pick up dispersers. I will also get the Mammalogy Class to do same next weekend.
Around 10:30 am met Natasha Gzaley and Mark(?) from Monterey. They are shooting videos of California habitats for the Cal. Academy's new California Hall. I showed them my slides of my woodrats, houses, etc. I then spent about 1 1/2 hrs showing them various types of houses - e.g. the Shider Tree; Hzes 11, 15 & 16 ; Hze 22 ; Hze 79-94 (Lesh. H.92-huge)-and telling them about N. fuscipes ecology and social organization. They intend to come back in Jan. to do some filming. That suits me just fine.
In the afternoon I used the ladder to hammer a flat trafficking platform in place 20' up in Live Oak containing Hze 18OA. The house is still, unfortunately, about 20' higher up. Set 2 Traps in a shelter there. I also set 2 traps on top of Hze 1B (18' up in L.Oak at the Y) with the help of the ladder. I also set traps at all active Hzes between 1 and 69. 5:30 pm Headed off into Carmel Valley with Stanbuck, Ribble + Connie Adams for Pizza and an old movie (The Count of Monte Cristo) at C.V. Library.
