P.A.Kelly 1987 Journal Apr. 21 Spent the morning and early afternoon updating some field notes at the Red Hze. At 3pm got hold of Anne and we set 6 traps in the E.Oaks way up Central Canyon (Noyce Ranch, NW of Blom Pond). We also set 11 at 9 freshly marked Hzes on the E.+S.E. sides of Haystack Hill. We then continued with the intensive trapping program in the E. Fld. Anne cooked noodles + veg for dinner. We went back out and checked traps from about 10.30pm to 1am. Left some traps open all night (esp on Haystack and the Noyce Ranch). Wed, Apr 22 Got up @ 7.30. Picked up Anne from Buck Hze Resort. ♀ 1304 in Central Canyon. We also tagged 2 new rats on Haystack Hill (Hk, ♀ 1391[pi; H9, ♀ 1393/94). Spent most of the day contin uing my "reclamation" of my individual trapping records/life histories. 5.30pm started resetting traps. Anne did the traps in Central Canyon, on Haystack Hill and from 201-210 while I set traps for a variety of ♀♀ (+young) and some ♂♂> in the long Fld. While doing so I found ♂> 1386-1356 dead on the ground beneath 100 A. It's interesting that we heard extensive squeaking/squawking coming from 100A area last night and decided to leave 2 traps open as a result. I didn't notice him this
