April 19 in Chilcot. After about 2 mi turned E§ on trail cont.) into the Brush and camped at Patton's
200 163 Study Site :
1.6 mi. NE Chilcost, Pluma Co. CA 5200ft
We camped under some cone-shedding
Jeffrey Pines at the head of the canyon
(lge Grove of Ashens). In the evening we set
10 pairs of Tomahawks (bailed w. COB) in
the very large boulders at the neck
of the canyon. Stream is flowing vigor
ously. Some woodrat sign about, found
a porcupine skull at one woodrat den.
I tagged a very large O? rat here last
Sept. 15. (# 223- ?).
April 20 I got up at 0530 to check traps. Got
4 animals: a lge O and 3 subadults in
separate areas of the rockpile.
