In the afternoon we drove to the Gr Basin Desert at Chilcoot, with Jim & Carol Everybody set trap lines and one van return ed to Sagelen with 7 students. The rest of us camped out. Dotzy and I demonstrated how to use the MVZ's new night vision goggles. The class lit a huge campfire and after dinner we all sat around drinking beer and telling stories. I set some traps for bushy tailed down the creek from our campsite in some huge boulders. Found a large store of green leaves in a rocks crevice. Sept. 15 After breakfast I tagged a large -> woodrat (over 500g) at the Big Rockpile. Jim & Carol arrived around 7.30am. We broke camp, lifted all trap lines and returned to Sagelen where the class resumed work on their study skins. Some of the class helped Joe Thornton remove the tarps from the tent platforms before we headed off for Berkeley.
