P.A. Kelly 1985 38 Journal Sept. 13 Sagehen Creek Field Station, Nevada Co., CA Jim & Carol Patton, Betsy Mitchell & I took the current Mammalogy class (Zoo 63) of 30 students on their first fieldtrip to Sagehen & Chilcoot. We drove up in the morning in 5 Ford 8-seater vans (rented from Hertz, the campus garage could not get their act tog ether). At Sagehen I took 1/3 of the group south to Sagehen Creek at Hwy 89 while Jim & Betsy took the remainder north to Kiln Meadow. The students set 2 lines of 10 Huson Specials each, as well as Tomahawks for woodrats and flying squirrels. After dinner Tim took everybody into the conference room and gave a lecture & demo on traps and trapping methods. At 11pm we took everybody out to check their trap lines.
