P.A.Kelly 1985 Journal Davis who were searching for the Goslauck nest. Somewhere in the vicinity of leofolds cabin / Wash. In the late afternoon I set 5 traps at the 'Stream Site' (10 mins hike up leofolds Wash). Also wanted to set some traps at the 'Peaks Site' on the ridge above the station but a severe thunderstorm looked imminent (but didn't materialize). Around 10pm reset 10 traps at U. Spring & 5 at L. Spring with Pam Schwartz (Mike's assistant). Also released #2185 and the battered O (#2176), (2177 & 2174 were released immediately after identification, in the morning). June 18 Checked traps at 6am: Another beautiful morning. U. Spring (10 Traps) # 2176 & # 2177 again # too also 3rd subadult 2187 31 95g F L. Spring (5) #2174 again, and the big old O (#2179 Stream Site (5) Nothing. No fresh sign there either so lifted all 5 traps. Saw 2 Stellar Jays mobbing a Gt Horned Owl on the way back down the wash c. 7.30am.
