Animals were released of course at site of capture. Then reset 15 traps at Mile 4.2 and 5 at Mile 3.7. on June 6 lifted all traps between 6.30 & 7.30 am. The night was very mild. In actual fact Sun. night was the only really cold (d wet) one I've had on this trip. At Mile 4.2 I caught 4 Golden Mantled Ground Squirrels as well as # 2180, # 2181, # 2183 and another unmarked subadult F. The 2 adults (2180 & 2181) were recaptured much higher up on the rockpile than yesterday. The F (2181) grazed her snout badly on the edge of the trap. Only got 3 GM Ground Squirrels at Mile 3.7. * Toe 2184 24 F ? 115 g Rereleased at Mile 4.2 after lunch on way back to Bay Area. Need a better anaesthetic (intra-periton eal), and ability to take blood by heart puncture. Also need to modify the handling bag.
