P.A. Kelly 1985 d Journal May 23 Camp fire until late. Got up at 6am and checked & collected all 40 traps. Lots of Nestoma again and thankfully also had one more Perognathus formosus for Jim. Put the other four, dead ones, in a cooler for later preservation. After breakfast we cleared up camp, burned all the rubbish, said our goodbyes to each other. Claudia headed back to Pizgal with Wayne & Betsy. Carolines, [illegible] and I headed north on 395 through the Owens Valley. We stopped in Bishop for refreshments (salabos) and then continued north to Mono Lake where we had one last swim & wash creek which feeds snow melt into Mono Lake. We then loaded west over Tioga Pass into Yosemite Park and Tuolumne Meadows. The scenery was spectacular, saw one well fed Coyote Canis Latrans against a magnificent boulderof in Tuolumne Meadows. Stopped for food, a snowball fight and some softball at a 7500 ft parking area. Pulled on through the park, across the Central Valley through Oakdale and arrived back in Berkeley around 7pm.
