side of the Glen. We found a nice place to camp
at a picnic area opposite the north (avenue) entr
ance to Aberlour House Hotel. In the evening we
went in to Tipperary Town and had a few nice
pints of Guinness in the Kingswell on Bridge St..
We were watching the 1st Irish Cycling Grand Prix
on TV when we were verbally assaulted by two raunchy
Tipperary 'ladies'. After realizing that I had never
before come so close to punching a woman in the face,
we decided to wait for the end of the race, finish
our drinks and make a prudent exit. We set up
our tent in the dark at the picnic site opposite the
north entrance to Aberlour House Hotel.
Aug. 15
We got up
early and went off to check all the longworths but
trap success was very low. I took down the tent
(unauthorised campsite although we had permission)
while Colly cooked a terrific breakfast. We took
a break at 10am and went on a hike up to the Carrig-
eenina Viewing Point from our Cortavolar Picnic Area
Base. The view to the north out over Tipperary town and
the surrounding countryside was spectacular. We
set 50 Museum Specials in Cortavolar Wood in
the afternoon. We stuffed the few voles we got
and went to the Kingswell again in the evening to
find out about those two aggressive amazons we
