May 25th evening check of [illegible], Yoz Valley 7:30 p.m.
Air temp. 140c. at 7:45 p.m. clear, coolish evening.
May 25 check of Cort Carter locality noted at noon. See
Bifur bronca species account for phenological data.
Clear sunny skies, moderate westerly breeze. A quick
lunch at Camp 19 before heading southwest.
Left Camp 19 3:00 p.m. (D.S.), mileage reading

296*.0, temp in 70's, clear but blustering winds.
Peregrin [illegible]. 3:40 p.m., mileage 709.8. I set my
thermograph in upper meadow for water temps. On
way back toward Chiquangin Ranger Station I checked
a good-looking canorus meadow. Mileage 711.6. Byla
chewing loudly. Meadow area SW x NE, 150 yards
long 50-60 yards wide. Rion troglai egg clusters
in small stems. Large shallow pond 50' diametr,
1/2' deep middle in center of meadow. Here Byla
chewing. 5:45 p.m. Drow patches under Lodgepole
pine S edge of meadow to 2 1/2' depth. Varied types
of water breeding situations available. Continued on to
Chiquangin, mileage reading 77.7. Gas 9.8 gallons
gauged. Fish Camp on Hwy. 41 south of Park
boundary 39.7. Westfall Ranger Station, Geira Notte.
Forest 40.3. Don Phillips, Forest Ranger, provided me with
maps and direction to Boggy Meadows. I headed N
again toward Fish Camp on Hwy 41, then turned
