Hyla regilla (5)
May 13 Pottle Meadow, 7750 ft., Yosemite Natl. Park,
Merced Co., Calif. Hyla chorusing here at 8:00
P.M. (D.S.T.) No signs of eggs yet. One pair
in completeus. -> let go of & when I observed.
Hyla population not greater now than 2-3 calling
or 1/2 per pond. The pools are average 8 feet
diameter. Some pottles are up to 3' depth along
main stream course. Water temp. pools, 6.5° C.
air temp. 1" above ground (open grass) 7.3° C.
One Rana boylii adult & also taken. Patches
of snow to foot depth scattered over meadow.
Deeper looks to W under the lodgepole pines. Small
wild composites to 3". Snow probably off this
meadow for week or less.
