E.L. Karlstrom 1954 Hyla regilla (3) April 8 It will be interesting to observe whether Bufo can breed in brownish-stained boggy pools now churned by Hyla. April 24 Steblins and I checked El Cojetin Meadow. Hyla toda present but not in numbers I saw 2 weeks before. I saw no egg clusters. Few adults calling. Pond higher dry 4-5 miles probably. some flow into the pool from culvert running beneath the road. Boot 1/2 mi. S of Saint Peter, Yosemita Valley, morjina Co., Calif. Extensive development of pools and runoff rivulets here. I was struck by the secrecy of Hyla toda, no eggs seen. Apparently breeding for yet to hit a peak at this locality. Algae not abundant in pools. Water samples taken including insect + tadpole life, Stebins and I checked this locality about 8:30 p.m. many Hyla cruising. We both noted that ov vocal even tend to be wider than long (drawing) and probably not as round then as other Hyla in Bay area.
