EL Kalatium 1954 Bufo boreas x canorus hybrid Nov. 7 External bridge of yolk, 2 mm. wide area appears to be a tumor (?) Probably not mechanical injury. Lower teeth 3/3 with lateral lobial fringe (see figure). Two other living toads same age and devolopment showed same tooth problem. Nov. 8 One of living toadoles died during night. Cause of living metamorphed toads seven, one toadpole left this date. This animal continued to feed and develop. Lowere of meal-worm, fruit-flies, storage products well's taken. Dec. 17 One hybrid alive. Length 14.2 mm. Coloration is unevenly deep brown similar to soil in aquarium. Beckland tubercles over back tipped with reddish brown. Venter browned-black but throat + abdomen salt-and-pepper effect with off slide white or dark. Feb. 10 Same hybrid dead from dessication, since I neglected to water the aquaurium over weekend. Apparently healthy to time of dying out, had feed on small meal worm lowere Feb. 4th and about 15+ mm. snout-vent length. All reason to assure this animal would have continued growth and development. Le Finis Also, pour canuck! I knew it well......
