Aug. 30 200 yards NE Tioga Pass Ranger Stn., 9920 ft., Mono Co.
Bank face 14" but level muddy spot near water's edge.
clearal 12:35 p.m. (D.S.) 20.1° C. Air temp. at mud
surface (in sun) 20.3° C. Active large adult. Wedded
into water as I grabbed for her. Previously I've noted
this behavior, in runlets as well as lakes. Adult
made 10 feet north of 7. In sun on wet mud
on dry grasses. Clearal 12:45 p.m. 23.5° C. Air
same in sun over mud. Note darker coloration this
male. Apparently toads have some blending abilities.
yellow to green on grasses - previously noted.
