July 10 Meadow at start of 21-mile Tioga mine road, 8300 ft., Tuolumne Co., Calif. Plenty of running and standing water here. Rana adult and large tadpoles present. Also toads (to 3/4" body length) seen. Wildflowers blooming - monkey flowers, shooting stars "lark-spurs", Phloxalin, asters. No sign of toads any form. Seems a good locality but lack of open low grass meadow area may be a factor. 4 adult yellow-legged frogs taken.
