E.L. Kalstern 1954 B. linear (51) August (?) desert meadow, 4000 ft., 1/2 mi. S Cont. Ctr. Yosemite Valley, Mariposa Co., Calif. Volitat shot taken with Voigtluder 4x5 camera, plus-X. Exposures 10,11,12 foring F from foot- path. F11 or F12 at 1/100th. Bright, clear, sunny day, 3:30 P.M. (D.S.). Maximum-minimum air 85-40° F. Present 80° F. Soil 77-45° F. Present 66°. Pool completely dried up, but bottom ooze still mushy. Deer tracks in mud. High meadow gooseberries. Western bull thistle in flower, to 5' height. Fern and milkweed to 3 1/2-4'. Few cow parsnips to 7-8' and drying up. Common monkey flower along footpath. Ranged air thermometer chart only.
