I injected this specimen with M.S. 222 solution,
0.5 cc. of 10 mg./cc. strength, at 9:23. Five
minutes later his respiratory rate was 1/3 normal,
no righting reflex. I left it for an hour to attend
ecology lecture. Animal revived and had to be hunted in lab.
ELK 154 adult ->-> body length mm. 11:20 A.M.
I injected 1 cc. M.S. 222 (10 mgm./cc. soln.) no
righting reflex within 2 minutes although leg
reflex strong. Animal relabeled for study. Suggest
1/2 to 1 cc. of the anesthetic last for killing
specimen fast. Dorsal ground color close to
Travenise (Pl. 14 F-3 M&P) otherwise colors
similar to ELK 158 just described. Underparts
are an off-shade white (possibly
Pl. 18 B1, M.P.) with a
rusty suffusion ventral abdominal
egion. Throat lacks black spots
for the most part. Some for under-
parts of fore limbs. The
mytilid cerification well
developed and dark brown in
color. Rt. testis 5.3 mm. long
