March 27 Newport Upper Harbor, Orange Co., Calif. (cont.)
and a Louisiana Heron! The latter has not
be recorded north of San Diego however I
couldn't collect it do to the timely arrival
of a policeman investigating a report of gun
shots in the area. It appears that it is illegal
to carry or discharge a loaded weapon in the
city of Newport & the mud flats are within the
city limits. After some discussion I was
freed from prison sentence & continued preparing
my specimens. However I "promised" to cause
no more trouble - at least not in Newport.
