Jenny Meux & I hiked over a portion of the area around Playfield & Jewel Lake where Zoo 107 field trips are held. Species seen: Ruby-crowned Kinglet-common Hutton Vireo - a little less common than the Kinglets but still common and in same bushes and trees. Brown Towhee Spotted Towhee Oregon Junco Scrub Jay Steller Jay Anna's Hummingbird Chestnut-backed Chickadee Plain Titmouse - little singing Wren-fit - occasional song Bewick Wren - buzz California Quail-song Glaucous-winged Gull - 30+ circle high above. Hermit Thrush Song Sparrow Fox Sparrow Mockingbird Audubon Warbler - many flycatching over lake Cost - one
