All the observations made in the Refuge
on this day were between 7:30 A.M. and
about 12:00 noon. The weather was
quite cold, and the sky overcast. Elev.
about 100 ft.
Princeton, Colusa Co., Calif.
Dec. 15 - 1 P.M. - 4 yellow-billed mag-
pies were seen feeding on the ground
in a field by a farm house
Meridian (and vicinity)
Dec. 15 - 1:30 P.M.; weather still cold
overcast; country mostly open fields,
with occasional groves of walnut trees
and clumps of cottonwood, oak, and
a few sycamore trees, especially along
the Sacramento River. Birds noted par-
ticularly were numerous yellow-billed
magpies, California woodpeckers, one
Lewis Woodpecker, one turkey vulture,
